AGENDA

Build a VPS using Terraform (Thomas Heil, Terminal Consulting)

Learn how to build a VPS (with all the required resources) from scratch using Terraform. After a short introduction into Infrastructure as Code, Thomas will focus on how to create a new VPC, then fire up an OpenVPN server and create a simple LAMP Stack with load balancer resources, and finally provision webservers over the internal IP address. Thomas will also discuss how to make use of Hashicorps Terraform and configuration management with Chef, to simplify and create environments for CloudStack.

The CloudStack usage service (Dag Sonstebo, ShapeBlue)

In this talk Dag will give an overview of the CloudStack usage service and it’s use cases. He will also dig deeper into the service to cover how the data flow works, how to report on the usage data and also how to manage the service and troubleshoot on a day to day basis.

Usecase: Ansible + Cloudstack Automation (Sebastian Bretschneider, Itelligence)

Find out about the infrastructure used at BIT Group GmbH (member of Itelligence) for their IT Cloud Solutions. Sebastien highlights some of the challenges encountered when combining different services like CloudStack, Ceph and Ansible, as well as features developed in their research projects.
