AGENDA & SPEAKERS

Giles Sirett – introductions & CloudStack news

Paul Angus – Backup & Recovery in CloudStack. CloudStack users have long had to resort to using snapshots as a form of VM backup with varying success. With the forthcoming Backup and Recovery Framework, end users will be presented with the features and functions that they have come to expect outside of ‘the cloud’, while cloud providers will be able to leverage the advantages of using enterprise backup and recovery products which can include hypervisor and storage level integrations. In this talk Paul will explain features of the forthcoming backup and recovery feature, the user experience and demonstrate the Veeam plugin working with the backup and recovery framework.

Vladimir Melnik – Building a redundant CloudStack management cluster. Building and maintaining an open-source-driven clustered environment for Apache CloudStack management server with GNU Linux, HAProxy, HeartBeat, Bind, OpenLDAP and other tools.

Olivier Lambert – Discover the story behind XCP-ng, the free community build of XenServer. Why we did it, and how we built it, from technical and community perspective. And finally, what’s coming next.

Boyan Ivanov – Tactical advice on building software-defined clouds.
